As a member of the UIA’s Banking and Financial Law Commission, Marie-Paule GILLEN will bring her experience to the conference on “Financial scandals and their legal and regulatory implications.” This event will take place in the context of the UIA Congress in Rome on 26 October 2023.

Her presentation will address recurrent financial scandals, from the Panama Papers in 2015 to LuxLeaks, and will carefully analyze their major repercussions on legislative and regulatory developments, both at the European and Luxembourg levels.

This conference will bring together renowned experts from several countries such as Italy, France, Turkey, India and Luxembourg, for an in-depth discussion of the current challenges faced by international financial law.

Here is the UIA’s description of this conference in its official program: “Various financial scandals continue to shake the financial markets as well as investors and have in particular affected cryptocurrencies and other virtual assets. In this session, various international financial scandals will be examined to highlight their judicial and financial regulatory implications. Speakers will also discuss the need to protect investors in an increasingly global and virtual world and the legislative trends to achieve this.”
